If you think your tourism-related Extension program would be of interest to NET members elsewhere, then please consider sharing a write-up about it!
The National Extension Tourism Design Team shares updates, resources, and opportunities with more than 800 members of the NETwork through its quarterly newsletter. Regional Spotlights are intended to share information about tourism, agritourism, or outdoor-recreation related Extension programs from a specific region. If you’re doing something in your state or county that you think would be of interest to NET members elsewhere, then please consider sharing a write-up about it!
What to submit
We’d prefer to feature a program or applied-research process. For examples of previous Regional and Member Spotlights, please see our newsletter archives.
Other content we’ll consider including:
- An abstract or summary of your recent conference presentation on a relevant topic
- A favorite resource of yours that you’d like others to know about
- A training you found beneficial and would recommend
- An upcoming opportunity that you’re excited about, or
- A resource that you or your organization has recently developed (These could also be added to the NET resource library)
When to submit
A different region is featured each quarter, as follows:
- Q1: Southern Region featured in February Newsletter
- Q2: Western Region featured in May Newsletter
- Q3: North Central Region featured in August Newsletter
- Q4: Northeast Region featured in November Newsletter

Additional guidelines and things to know
- Submission does not guarantee inclusion.
- Submissions do not need to be original content. Feel free to re-use or repurpose your previously published work (e.g., it already appeared in your Extension newsletter or in a conference program). However, please do not submit anything that has been copyrighted or is otherwise restricted.
- Submissions should be complete, i.e., it is not the responsibility of the NET editors to write stories that you suggest.
- Submissions may be used by the communications committee to create social media posts. If this is not acceptable to you, please indicate this on the submission form.
- The communications committee reserves the right to edit the submission for clarity and grammar.
